Following the New York and Milan fashion weeks, many popular fall styles and trends, fresh off the runway, are becoming integrated into everyday style.
Statement Belts: Bigger belts were used during NYFW, and were put onto everything from dresses to coats. You can incorporate this trend into your everyday style by wearing a belt with a bigger clasp on jeans and shorts. You can also wear larger, wider belts over top coats, skirts, and dresses.
Different types of sleeves: Different types of sleeves – bell, capped and ruffled – have been popular in the fashion world. The sleeve trend was seen on the runways, as well as in street styles. You can incorporate this trend into your everyday style by wearing a bell sleeve or a capped sleeve top with jeans or shorts. Capped sleeves are complemented when paired with a skirt, or on a dress.
Oversized Coats: This fall season, oversized and more stylish coats have become a very popular look. Most of these coats are longer and go down past the knees. They also usually have buttons down both sides, as well as a collar along the top. You can incorporate this trend into your everyday style by wearing oversized coats over top of shorts and skirts, as well as jeans. If you’re going for a more casual look, pair the coat with sneakers, or for a more dressier look, pair with ankle booties.
Plaid: Although plaid has always been part of fall fashion, it has become particularly big in the fashion world this year. It was seen on the runways on sweaters, coats, pants, and skirts. You can incorporate this trend into your everyday style by wearing a plaid sweater with solid pants and a pair of boots. You can also wear a plaid oversized coat with other solid clothing pieces. Be careful, though, when mixing plaids. The contrasting plaids can be overdone, so make sure the prints complement each other!
